The Central Compassion Center is a non-profit organization working to serve the people of Salt Lake City, Utah. Located in a diverse neighborhood, there are over one hundred languages spoken within a two mile radius of the Center. Although we are small, God has been moving in incredible ways. God has provided us with community partners including Costco, Chick-fil-a, Pizza Hut, and Nicolas and Co. who are allowing us to provide our neighbors with nutritious, quality food.
The Central Compassion Center has a desire to expand its services in the future, but at this moment we offer free food and clothing every Saturday from 10am to 11am. We have an ESL class that is offered on Wednesday nights from 6pm to 7:30pm. The pandemic stopped out sports programs for kids and youth, and we plan to start that back up in the near future.
Here is how you can serve…… We can always use helpers to hand out the food and clothing every Saturday morning as well as volunteers that would like to help coach soccer and or basketball.
Our expansion project is just getting under way.
Phase 1 is to build a 30ft by 60ft distribution center that will serve as a multi purpose facility. This building will be equipped with clothing storage, freezers and refrigerators for food, bathroom and wash area as well as a large exterior door designed for receiving large donations. This building will also be used in all weather types for youth and children activities, such as sports, crafts, music lessons, etc. Some of the dreams that this building can be used for are Veteran- PTSD programs, Drug and Alcohol recovery programs, etc.
